An adaptation of Chekhov's The Seagull, Pulitzer Prize winner Donald Margulies' new play The Country House takes a look behind the closed doors of a family of actors. Blythe Danner, Kate Jennings Grant, Eric Lange, David Rasche, Sarah Steele and Daniel Sunjata play the members of a clan that gathers in their Berkshire home during the summer theatre season to wrestle with fame, art and, as always, each other. Daniel Sullivan directs. A co-production of Manhattan Theatre Club and the Geffen Playhouse, the play is currently in previews at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre with an official opening on Oct. 2. The production runs through Dec. 9. See a Photo Call from the play.
