Based on the 1992 Steve Martin film of the same name, the new Alan Menken-Glenn Slater musical Leap of Faith stars Raúl Esparza as con man Jonas Nightingale. Posing as a miracle-working reverend, Nightingale sets up his revival tent and plans to fleece the locals of their hard earned cash when his bus breaks down in a small town. When the sheriff (played by Jessica Phillips) steps into the picture, romantic sparks fly and Nightingale must rethink his life and the meaning of faith. With direction by Christopher Ashley, choreography by Sergio Trujillo and book by Janus Cercone and Warren Leight, the production is currently in previews at the St. James Theatre.
