Synopsis

Colm Tóibín's The Testament of Mary takes place after the Crucifixion. Mary, the mother of Jesus, is in the city of Ephesus where she is both guarded and protected. As two of her son's followers set about giving shape to Jesus’ story, Mary tells her own story - the one which has not been heard.
