The House of Atreus
Synopsis
Agamemnon, the king of Argos, returns home from fighting the Trojan War to find his adulterous wife, Clytemnestra, ready to murder him for sacrificing their daughter, Iphigenia, in Aeschylus' tragedy, the first in his Oresteia trilogy.
Agamemnon: John Lewin adapts Aeschylus' Oresteia, a trilogy which details the Greek king Agamemnon's murder by his unfaithful wife Clytemnestra, and the revenge taken upon her by their son, Orestes.
