Kathie Lee Gifford Hosts 20th Annual Broadway on Broadway, Part Two
On Sept. 9, a crowd of theatre lovers filled Times Square for Broadway on Broadway, an annual free performance featuring Broadway shows both old and new. In this 20th year of the event, host Kathie Lee Gifford presented a performance of her own new musical Scandalous: The Life and Trials of Aimee Semple McPherson. Disney hit Newsies (with new leading man Corey Cott) was also on hand, as was Off-Broadway-bound Bare. A special medley of great show tunes comprised a celebration for the Nederlander Organization’s 100th anniversary and cast members from all the participating shows wrapped up the day with a grand finale of "New York, New York."
