Highlights From Scandalous Starring Carolee Carmello, Part One
Two-time Tony nominee Carolee Carmello stars in the title role of the new musical Scandalous: The Life and Trials of Aimee Semple McPherson by Kathie Lee Gifford (book and lyrics) and composers David Friedman and David Pomeranz . The show, which Aimee narrates from the pulpit of her popular Hollywood church, draws on the life of the early 20th-century evangelist-turned-media-pioneer whose life was fraught with controversy — including drug use, widowhood, divorce and a kidnapping that was apparently staged. Here, the cast delivers the songs "Stand Up," "A Girl's Gotta Do What a Girl's Gotta Do," "Why Can't I" and "Go Back Home." To read more from Gifford about the show, click here.
